Jacob Staten Racing Battles Through Weather Chaos for Sixth Win of the Season at Hickory Motor Speedway

What started as an uncertain race day turned into another memorable night for Jacob Staten Racing as Jacob captured his sixth victory of the season at Hickory Motor Speedway during the Tar Heel 250 event.

With threatening weather moving into the area throughout the day, race officials made the decision to move the schedule up in hopes of completing the program before the rain arrived. Despite the adjustments, additional rain delays still impacted the race schedule and ultimately forced officials to cancel the qualifying session altogether.

Fortunately, the team came prepared.

Earlier in the day, Jacob posted one of the fastest practice laps in the field, which lined him up on the outside front row in second place once qualifying was scratched. From the drop of the green flag, it was clear the car had speed. The feature race stayed caution free, creating an intense, fast-paced battle at one of the toughest short tracks in the country. Jacob spent the early portion of the race applying pressure to the leader and making several attempts to complete the pass. Patience and persistence finally paid off on lap 27 when he secured the top spot.

Once out front, Jacob never looked back.

The team’s preparation and ability to adapt to the constantly changing conditions proved to be the difference, as Jacob drove away to secure another victory at Hickory Motor Speedway a track known for producing some of the best racing in the region.

The victory marks win number six on the season and continues the strong momentum for Jacob Staten Racing as the team heads deeper into the 2026 schedule.
